A FACT WHICH SHOULD BE KNOWN

On behalf of Annie Keitch, 1 Chapeltown, who was summoned for failing to notify the local authority of nursing a child under seven years of age, for reward. Mr Saxon Walshaw pleaded pleaded guilty to a technical offence.
Mr Coupe, prosecuting, said that he did not press for a heavy penalty, but it was necessary that the public should know that it was essential, according to the Act and in the interests of the children, that nurses should report to the local authority. In this case, the child had been looked after exceptionally well and the object of the case was to obtain a little publicity on the matter.
Mr S Walshaw asked the Bench to refrain from recording a conviction.
The case was dismissed on payment of 4s 6d costs.
