LAST BROADCAST WITH THE LIFE GUARDS
On Friday Evening a Northwich Man made his last broadcast with the band of Her Majesty's Life Guards. He is 25 year old Gerald Linegar, of Willesden Lane, London whose parents live in Romanes Street, Castle, and whose wife was formerly Miss Myra Newall, only daughter of Mr J Newall and the late Mrs Newall of Jacklyn, Station Road, Winsford.
Mr Linegar plays the cornet and trumpet, and before joining the Services was a member of Fodens Motor Works Band. He enlisted in the Life Guards three and a half years ago and with their band played in the Coronation procession and in a great many of Great Britain's towns and cities.
Mr Linegar served his apprenticeship as a draughtsman with Messrs I Pimblott and Sons, the Northwich ship builders. He is now to re-enter civilian life and to resume his trade with a Bournemouth firm.
